A Quick Overview of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Short term use, and if you suffer from high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you should consult your doctor before using this therapy.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Colorado Springs is medically-assisted hyperbaric chamber treatment where an ambient pressure higher than sea level ambient air pressure is required as a vital part of the treatment. As such, the chambers themselves need to be extremely clean and well maintained in order for the treatments to be effective.

The most widely used hyperbaric chambers are designed to hold about four litres of pure oxygen. Typically they are air tight, but these days there are also some that are equipped with pressurized inert gases to hold the oxygen at a more manageable level.

What a high pressure chamber does is that it opens up the molecules of air to extremely high temperatures and thereby forcing the water molecules to move faster through them until they finally freeze and collapse into bubbles. This creates a highly accelerated chemical reaction, which in turn generates heat. The high temperature forces the molecules of the air to move faster, thus opening up the airways and allowing the high pressure to rise. With the oxygen in the chamber, the trapped carbon dioxide is forced to escape through the other holes in the unit, thus creating the accelerated air flow.

Although high pressures have the effect of drawing carbon dioxide out of the lungs, it is not harmful to the body and, as such, is not the first step to any kind of therapy. As with any medical procedure, there are certain risks associated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and these risks are discussed below.

First of all, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is very cold. The body can suffer from hypothermia after a session, even if the temperature is normal, because the body's temperature is reduced and can be very painful.

Also, there are some people who are allergic to some of the elements, particularly hydrogen and potassium. Since these elements are used to create the bubbles, they will react with the oxygen and create a chemical reaction that can be very dangerous.

Finally, many people find that the hyperbaric oxygen chamber is too cold and uncomfortable, and they often experience headaches, nausea and vomiting. This is because the pressure increases so quickly that there is an uncomfortable sensation that the person is literally floating.

These risks are important to remember when considering the use of hyperbaric therapy. If you or a loved one has any doubts, talk to your doctor before you start any kind of therapy, and he or she may be able to suggest something better for you.

When looking at hyperbaric oxygen therapy, you will first be asked to go to a hyperbaric chamber. You will be given an inhalation mask with a special filter, and you will be asked to lie on your stomach in this special chamber.

The mask will be filled with pressurized water, and a special apparatus called a cannula will be attached to it. This device will allow for the user to inhale the water, which will increase the amount of air pressure in the chamber, making it very low, which in turn causes the water to move faster through the filter, causing bubbles.

The hyperbaric therapy device is a small one that sits on top of the inhalation unit and has a hose. The hose is connected to an air compressor that pumps the pressurized water through a small tube into the patient's mouth.

After the hyperbaric oxygen therapy session, the patient must return to their regular room and be checked out by their doctor for any problems. It is important to make sure that they do not have any medical conditions that would prevent them from breathing properly while in the chamber.

The best thing about hyperbaric oxygen therapy is that there are no dangerous side effects, and it has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and increase alertness, as well as help reduce headaches and other aches and pains. However, this treatment is only recommended for short term use, and if you suffer from high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you should consult your doctor before using this therapy.
