Protect Yourself From Illegal Activities That Take Place at Your Gun Pawn Shop
A very smart person who decided to start a gun Buy A Gun in Norfolk VA pawn shop in Portsmouth, Virginia is trying to take the concept nationwide. The owner of Patriot Pawn, Doug Read, has already started two successful shops, and he is ready to start a third one in Water Mill, Washington State.
Many people in America are facing economic hardship these days, and many others have taken to the streets to protest unemployment, the shrinking middle class, and other problems. Many people in America are not able to pay off their debts, and when they can't pay their debts they start looking for help from the government. However, when the government starts handing out money to people that don't have money they turn to crime, and gun pawn shops seem to be where a lot of this cash is headed.
In addition to the fact that most private citizens don't have a lot of money these days, those with access to guns may be stealing them. People with access to guns often have an extra firearm and are stealing from people who cannot afford them.
Not long ago the owner of Patriot Pawn was a victim of a robbery. He called the police to report it, but after the authorities had left he reported the incident to me. He told me how he discovered that the suspects were actually his employees, and not his customers as he thought.
When the police arrived on the scene they did not check the guns at all. They did not question the employees about what weapons they had at the time, and neither did the owner.
The employees said that they didn't know that they were not allowed to have guns because they were an American citizen, and that if the owner ever bought a weapon from them again they would go to jail. These employees, and the owner of Patriot Pawn, were in complete violation of the law.
What is even more disturbing is that these employees worked for the federal government. They work for the Department of Defense, which is under the Federal Bureau of Investigations. When a taxpayer uses their government services, they are subject to a law called the "Gun Control Act of 1968".
If you ask these employees how many times they stole from the owners of Patriot Pawn they will not answer. The government cannot be trusted with guns. It doesn't matter that they are legally allowed to have them.
If you decide to run a gun pawn shop, the first thing you need to do is get yourself a license from the ATF, or Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. There are some out there who have already done this, but it is still a good idea to get a license.
You should also have a license from the local, state, and federal governments to allow you to transport, and handle weapons in your store. You also want to be able to operate without interference from the authorities, including harassment by cops.
Next you want to talk to your local jurisdiction in terms of the laws governing gun sales and purchases. You need to be sure that you can comply with the laws in your community, so always check to see if you have any local restrictions.
If you follow these steps you will be perfectly safe and well protected as you begin to establish your gun pawn shop. Remember that people have been found guilty of breaking these laws before, and you don't want to be next.
