Colorado is one of the most popular states in the United States. Its beautiful and long stretches of undeveloped country and mountainous highlands offer a wide range of outdoor experiences for recreational users. Colorado's scenic peaks are perhaps the most impressive feature of this breathtaking state.

During the winter season, it is absolutely freezing cold in the mountains. On the other hand, the crystal clear mountain waters are a refreshing respite from the frigid temperatures. Along with mountains, Colorado's mountainous terrain also provides spectacular mountain vistas, expansive coastline, and lush meadows. Coupled with the state's rich history, this part of the country has all the qualities of a country oasis, bringing all sorts of people to its doors.

The three major mountain ranges that form Colorado includes the Mount Evans range, the Front Range, and the Rocky Mountains. Some of the Colorado's most spectacular scenery is found on the majestic ranges, the largest among them being the Northstar Mountains. However, the Grand Canyon also offers some of the most gorgeous views.

Colorado's mountain peaks are as scenic as the Grand Canyon. Many people visit the state to climb Colorado's steepest peaks to explore the surrounding highlands. There are dozens of private, state, and national ski resorts available for those interested in hiking, backpacking, camping, and other outdoor activities. However, climbing Colorado's steepest peaks provides an additional sense of adventure, presenting another way for recreational users to experience Colorado's extraordinary beauty.

A climber's peak would be only one of the many peaks to visit. In addition to the tri-state area, one should visit the state's high plains region, the Wind River Range, and the Rio Grande range. The Rocky Mountains provide some of the most dramatic and incredible views. Even though Colorado's steepest peaks are separated by large ranges, the Rocky Mountains offers great views of snow cover peaks and Grand Canyon.

The other well-known climbing areas of Colorado include the state's highest peak, Mount Elbert. Mount Evans is the third highest and most popular, while the Front Range ranges are the fifth and sixth highest peaks. However, the Grand Canyon is the seventh highest peak, and Colorado's steepest peaks are the eighth and ninth highest peaks.
